Ron Callear established his business in 1976, as a meat processing facility. In 1999 he expanded into doing barbecue catering and today, that is their primary business. Judd Callear joined his Dad in 2004 after college.
The Callears realize how important continued education is and attend industry conferences yearly, seminars hosted by Penn State University Meat Lab and the Iowa State University Meat Department. Ron received Safe Serve Certification in 2003.
They started babecuing in 1999 with 2 pits bought from the Pennsylvania Amish and now own 8 pits that hold up to 200 pounds of meat and a trailerized Southern Pride Cooker that cooks up to 500 pounds of meat. They use these pits for their self-serve and catered events and rent them to individuals desiring to do their own barbecues. All of the side dishes they provide are home made. The Callears also carry tents, tables and chairs because they have found many people like the convenience of one-stop shopping. Callears R&R Bar-B-Que customers include individuals and businesses but whether your event is for 10 people or 1000 people, your requirements are of the utmost importance.
